Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present her eighth consecutive budget today. This will also be the second budget of the third term of Modi administration. On the day of the budget, the stock market is seeing a boom atmosphere. At 9.30 am, the stock market opened in green mark and the Sensex opened at 77,528.22 points above +768.41 points. While the Nifty opened at 23,508.20 up 258 points.

 

Stock market boom

The Economic Survey 2025, released on Friday, indicated that the recession in investment activity is likely to be temporary and may improve soon. According to the Economic Survey presented in Parliament on Friday by the Finance Minister, India’s economy is estimated to increase between 6.3 percent and 6.8 percent in FY 2025-26 (FY26).

  • The Shares of Adani Group are also performing well with other stocks in the stock market. Adani Group shares are trading at around 4 per cent, Adani Green 3.52 per cent and Adani Enterprises 2.46 per cent, while Adani Port, Adani Total Gas and Adani Wilmer shares are also trading with gains.
  • Out of the top 30 shares included in the BSE Sensex, 9 shares have declined the biggest, while the remaining 21 shares are trading with an increase. The biggest increase was seen in ITC Hotels, with an increase of about 3 percent. At the same time, there is a slight decline in Titan shares.
  • The top 50 shares on NSE have seen a rise of up to 3 per cent in the shares of ITC Hotels, Mahindra and Mahindra, Bell, UltraTech Cement. While out of the top 50 shares of NSE, 23 shares are declining, including shares such as Heromotocorp and Wipro.

These shares declined.

Talking about the declining shares, five star business fell by 5 per cent, 1 per cent in page industries, 1 per cent in Indian bank, 2 per cent in Nalco and Hero MotoCorp by about 2 per cent.
