AIIMS NORCET 8 Exam 2025: Selection process

The selection of applicants will take place in two stages: Stage 1 will include a preliminary exam, then follows Stage 2, which will be a computer-based test. Those who will be qualified in the stage 1 test will sit in the stage 2.

As per the official notification, stage 1 will held on April 12 whereas Stage 2 will be conducted on May 2.

AIIMS NORCET 8 Exam 2025: Vacancy details

This recruitment intends to fill 1,794 nursing officer openings at 23 institutes, including AIIMS and other colleges. AIIMS New Delhi recently published the category-wise openings for NORCET-8. As per the data, AIIMS Patna has the most open places, with 308, followed by the Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences (CAPFIMS, Maidangarhi), which has 300.

AIIMS NORCET 8 Exam 2025: Exam pattern

1. Stage 1: The preliminary exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions worth 100 points, each with four possibilities. (20 MCQs relating to general knowledge and aptitude, and 80 MCQs linked to the syllabus of nursing courses given at the fundamental qualification level). The exam runs for 90 minutes. Each incorrect response will result in a 1/3-mark deduction.

2. Stage 2: The main test will consist of 160 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for 160 points, with four options for each topic about the subject. It includes the whole syllabus of nursing courses taught at the fundamental qualification level, with an emphasis on case scenario-based questions to assess nursing skills competency. The exam lasts 180 minutes. The question paper will be divided into four 45-minute portions, each with 40 questions. Each incorrect response will result in a 1/3-mark deduction.

AIIMS NORCET 8 Exam 2025: Application fees

The application cost for General/OBC applicants is ₹3000/-, while SC/ST/EWS aspirants pay ₹2400/-. Persons with Disabilities applicants are excluded from paying the cost. The candidate can pay the application cost using a Debit Card, Credit Card, or net banking.
