Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Employees at Satpura Bhawan staged a protest against Tribal Commissioner Shriman Shukla on Wednesday, following the suspension of an employee for arriving late to his office. The protest erupted after reports surfaced that Shukla had thrown a water bottle at the employee, Harshpal, in a fit of rage before suspending him.
Employee arrived slightly late, infuriated the commissioner
According to sources, Shukla had summoned Harshpal urgently to type an order, but the employee arrived slightly late, which infuriated the commissioner. Shukla allegedly issued threats and later suspended Harshpal from duty.
Cops deployed over rising security concern amidst protest
As news of the incident spread, employees gathered at the office gate, raising slogans against the commissioner. The escalating protest prompted Shukla to call police for security.
State president of Madhya Pradesh Karamchari Manch Ashok Pandey condemned Shukla’s behaviour, calling it unacceptable. He told Free Presshat a formal letter would be sent to Chief Minister, demanding a high-level investigation and immediate reinstatement of the suspended employee.
