Roots Football Club came from behind to claim a 2-1 win over Sesa FA in an exciting match of the Indian Women’s League 2 2024-25 final round at Dular Stadium, Mapusa, Goa on Thursday. Sesa FA started strong, scoring early in the sixth minute. They kept their 1-0 lead until halftime.

Roots FC made their move in the second half, scoring two quick goals. The first goal came in the 73rd minute, and the second followed soon after two minutes. Achom Degio was named Player of the Match for her excellent performance, including scoring one of the goals for Roots FC and also have a role in setting up another goal.

Hawk FA beat Immortal Warriors

Hawk Football Academy won 2-1 against Immortal Warriors FC in a tight game of the Assam State Premier League at Mirza Stadium on Thursday. Hawk FA scored first and later secured the win with another goal, while Immortal Warriors FC managed to score once.

Both teams had almost equal control of the game — Hawk FA had 51% possession, and Immortal Warriors had 49%. Each team took 4 shots, but Hawk FA had 2 shots on target and scored both, while Immortal Warriors had only 1 shot on target.

Panvel Kings rule over Samira Habitats

Panvel Kings clinched a solid 35-run victory over Samira Habitats in the Raigad Premier League on Thursday. Kings posted 157/7 in their 20 overs, thanks to a strong batting performance led by S. Mane, who scored 52 runs off 41 balls, and was well supported by V. Jitekar’s 29 off 23 balls.

In response, Samira Habitats were bowled out for 122 in 19.1 overs, struggling against the tight bowling attack. Siddharth Mhatre was named Player of the Match for his outstanding spell of three wickets for just 15 runs in four overs. He was well supported by A. Mali, who also picked up three wickets, conceding only 10 runs in three overs, sealing a dominant all-round performance by Panvel Kings.

Pen Bappa secured a thrilling five-wicket win over MG Maratha Uran, successfully chasing down the target of 123 by scoring 125/5 in just 18 overs. The star of the match was Sagar Mule, who delivered a brilliant all-round performance — taking five wickets for just 16 runs, and also contributing 33 runs off 26 balls. He was well supported by N. Koli, who added 23 runs off 24 balls, and by S. Patil, who bowled economically, taking one wicket for 20 runs in his four overs.

Mule’s heroics helped Pen Bappa control the game with both bat and ball, sealing a well-deserved victory.
