Mighty Mavericks won the SGL Premier League in Goregaon on Saturday. Mavericks showcased an explosive chase, reaching 149/3 in just 5.5 overs, clinching the victory by five wickets against Spartan Warriors in the final. Earlier, Warrior’s posted a total of 145/4 in just six overs. The tournament saw 18 thrilling matches among 12 competitive teams.

Hungry Hearts Eagle defeat Youth FA

Hungry Hearts Eagle delivered a commanding performance to defeat Youth FA 11–2 in a thrilling Youth Championship football match in Borivali on Saturday. The game, played over two halves of 20 and 19 minutes, saw Hungry Hearts control proceedings from the kickoff till the final whistle. Statistically, Hungry Hearts Eagle dominated across the board with 11 shots, all on target, while Youth FA managed only 2 shots, both on target. Despite the high-scoring nature of the match, it was played in good spirits, with no fouls, cards, offsides, or disciplinary action recorded.

FAST FA delivered a clinical performance to secure a 4–0 win over Hungry Hearts Sharks in a dominant display of control and composure. The match, held over two halves of 20 minutes each, showcased FAST FA’s attacking efficiency and defensive discipline.

FAST FA recorded 4 shots, all of which were on target, converting them into goals with ruthless precision. In contrast, Hungry Hearts Sharks failed to register a single shot or attempt on goal throughout the match, struggling to break past FAST FA’s organised defense.

Sangharsh edge out Yuva

Sangharsh edged out Yuva with a 23–17 win in the Gokulvan Mitra Mandal Ayogit Amdar Chashak kabaddi tournament in Goregaon. Netaji Subhash made a strong statement in another match, dominating Guru Gajanan by 33–10. Jolly overpowered Ratnadeep 22–5, continuing their aggressive form.

Utkarsh Sport Club displayed excellent teamwork in fourth match, defeating Satyam Seva Sangh 22–7. In another exciting face-off, Siddhivinayak claimed a convincing 28–11 victory over Jagdamba. The final clash of the round saw Netaji Subhash edge past Jolly in a nail-biting finish, 19–18.

Mumbai thrash Ahmedabad 42-0

In a dominant performance, Nagpur overpowered Ahmednagar with a staggering 63-0 victory in the Maharashtra State Rugby Championship, in Balewadi, Pune. Mumbai followed suit with an equally commanding 42-0 win against Ahmedabad, showcasing their superior form.

Palghar also put on a strong display, defeating Ratnagiri with a clean 27-0 scoreline, while Beed edged out Satara in a closer contest, winning 14-5.

The tournament featured some of the most promising rugby talent in the state, and the matches reflected the growing popularity and competitive spirit of rugby in Maharashtra.
