Women’s cricket took center stage in Mumbai and Delhi at the Wicket Queens Tournament. In the final under lights, Kshitiz Academy crushed Total Sports by a staggering 51 runs, a margin rarely seen in the high-intensity world of box cricket. Batting first, Kshitiz Academy made their intentions clear from the start, hammering 73 runs in just four overs, their batters displaying aggression and control in equal measure. The chase, however, never took off for Total Sports, as they crumbled under relentless pressure, managing just 22 runs in their allotted four overs, falling woefully short of the target.

Organised by SportVot in association with The Free Press Journal, the tournament marked International Women’s Day with a thrilling display of passion, power, and precision on the cricket field. Total 12 teams participated in the tournament played at CJ x SportVot Play Turf in Chembur, Mumbai, and House of Cricket x SportVot Play in Rajouri, Delhi. Total 16 matches were played in the tournament.

If Kshitiz Academy’s dominance set the tone for the day, Jo’s breathtaking performances throughout the tournament were its defining highlight. She was unstoppable with the bat, amassing 85 runs at a blistering strike rate of 190 across three matches, a performance that earned her the coveted Wicket Queen title. Every ball she faced was an opportunity, every stroke a statement—her fearless batting became the heartbeat of the tournament.

But Wicket Queens was more than just about boundaries and wickets—it was about celebrating the spirit of women’s cricket and pushing the conversation forward. The tournament received unwavering support from brands that believe in the power of sports to uplift and inspire. With Storia as the beverage partner, BRB as the snack partner, EaseMyTrip facilitating travel, Tennex providing top-quality cricket gear, Smaaash adding entertainment, and UPUR FIT championing fitness, the event was not just a competition but a festival of empowerment.
