The poor performance of Team India on the Australia tour was reviewed. A BCCI meeting was held to investigate the reasons for the loss of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar were also present in this meeting. According to a report, another issue was discussed in the same meeting, which was about paying players based on their performance. That means the performance will be the same and so will the money. According to this report, it was considered that the players should become more responsible towards their game and especially red ball cricket and play their role in the team more responsibly.
Demonstration is happening instead of money!
According to the report, the players who do not play their role in the team well, if they do not perform then their money should be reduced accordingly. The same happens with employees in any office. According to the suggestions given in the review meeting, if a player’s performance is not as per expectations, it also affects his earnings. Indian Express has written quoting sources that this is a suggestion which will make the players more accountable. If they fail to meet their obligations the amount they receive will also be less.
Will the same rule apply to star cricketers also?
According to the report, the performance-based income could be similar to the incentive system introduced by the BCCI last year to attract players to Test cricket. If a player is included in the playing eleven in 50 percent of the tests of the season, he will get an incentive of Rs 30 lakh per match. If a player is included in the playing eleven of 75 percent of the matches of the season, then this incentive amount will be Rs 45 lakh.
Will players’ money be deducted?
Indian players currently get Rs 15 lakh for playing each Test. Apart from this, they also get separate money for good performance. According to the information received, the latest suggestion is about cutting the money equally according to performance or match fees and it is not yet decided whether the money will be deducted from the players accordingly or not. But it is certain that the shock of the 1-3 defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia came only when the issue of performance-based income came to the fore.
BCCI is in a lot of trouble right now
BCCI is currently in deep trouble due to India’s poor performance. It is strict for players to stay with their families during foreign tours. If the journey is more than 45 days then you can stay together only for 14 days and if it is more than 45 days then you can stay together for 7 days. No one except the players will be allowed to enter the VIP box or the team bus. Besides, fixed time of support staff has also been fixed. In view of this, there is a possibility of reduction in the payments of cricketers.
