Russian Junior Meera Andreeva broke the dream of defending champion IGA Swiatech’s third Indian Wales Tennis title, defeating her 7-6 (1), 1-6, 6-3 in the semi-final match to enter the semi-finals.

 

Meera, 17, broke the process of winning 10 consecutive matches in Indian Wales and won against IGA for the second time in three weeks. In the final match of the tournament on Sunday, Meera will field as the youngest player of the tournament so far. Earlier, Kim was the youngest player in this tournament. Swiatech started the match very strongly, took the first set to the tiebreaker and then won the second set. However, he failed to perform as expected in the third set and lost.

Meanwhile, in another semi-final match, world number one player Erin Sabalanka defeated America’s Madison Keys 6–0, 6-1 to enter the finals and also avenged the defeat of the world’s number five player Madison in the final of the Australian Open. Sabalanka showed her opponent to the outside in the match that lasted for just 51 minutes. Now Sabalanka will face Russia’s Andreva.
