Shoeli Akhtar of Bangladesh has become the first female cricketer to be suspended by the ICC on charges of corruption.

 

He has been found guilty of attempting to fix the match in the 2023 T20 World Cup. 36 -year -old Shohli has been banned for five years. Off-spinner Shoily has played two ODIs and 13 T20 matches for Bangladesh and admitted to violation of the ICC ACU’s code of conduct during the tournament in South Africa. However, she was not a member of the Bangladesh team during the tournament. Shoheli was identified as Player-A during the ACU investigation on 14 February 2023. She was chatting with a female cricketer on Facebook Messenger. He contacted his friend and team partner. In which he persuaded a fellow player to fix the Bangladesh match in future.

Shoheli will give two million Bangladeshi Rupiah to his friend to fix the match. Shoheli described the bookie as his cousin. He also offered to give more money to the female player and assured that everything would be kept confidential.
