Australian Open Grand Slam favorite Sabalenko defeated Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 after reaching the first set tiebreaker. Russian teenager Andreeva defeated Linda Noskova 6-3, 6-0. This match was played for 63 minutes. Bojkova defeated Azarenka 6-4, 6-4.
