Rajkot: In a heartwarming display of generosity and devotion, renowned spiritual leader Morari Bapu’s Ramkatha has raised more than Rs 60 crore. The proceeds from the Ramkatha, which took place at Racecourse Road in Rajkot city of Gujarat, will support the charitable initiatives of Sadbhavana Trust.

The funds raised will primarily support the trust in building the Sadbhavana Old Age Home, a monumental Rs 300 crore project at Paddhari on Jamnagar Road. A sanctuary for the destitute, disabled and neglected elderly, it will house 1,400 rooms, aiming to restore dignity and provide comprehensive care for its residents. The trust will also undertake large-scale tree plantation drives to spread the message of environmental responsibility.

On the opening day of the Ramkatha, Morari Bapu urged devotees to extend their love and support to both elderly care and environmental conservation. The heartfelt appeal resonated deeply, resulting in unprecedented generosity from the community of devotees.

The Ramkatha, which commenced on November 23, attracted around 80,000 to 1 lakh devotees and dignitaries each day. Beyond the spiritual objective, the event also reflected the community’s dedication to service, with thousands partaking in Prasad daily. Numerous volunteers and community organisations came together to contribute to the multi-faceted event’s roaring success.

The Ramkatha, which concluded on December 1, not only brought spiritual solace to lakhs of participants but also showcased the transformative power of faith in addressing societal challenges. The funds raised will pave the way for providing hope and dignity to the elderly while contributing to environmental sustainability efforts.

The Ramkatha in Rajkot was Morari Bapu’s 947th katha. The eminent spiritual leader has devoted his life to spreading the teachings of Lord Rama and the Ramayana and championed the values of truth, love and compassion.
