Jaipur: In a heart-wrenching incident, a speeding truck overturned on a passing car, claimed the lives of six cousins who were returning from a wedding ceremony. The accident happened in Deshnok, Bikaner at around 11 on Wednesday night.
The police said that the accident happened on the bridge built on the railway crossing near Karni temple, where a truck coming from Nokha to Bikaner lost control and overturned on a car going towards Nokha.
The car got completely crushed on the road and all the six injured remained stuck under the truck for about half an hour after the accident. A JCB, was called to remove the truck. Out of these, 4 injured were taken to Deshnok CHC and 2 to PBM Hospital in Bikaner, where the doctors declared them brought dead.
All the deceased belong to the same family and were cousins to each other. While in another incident in Bikaner itself, a speeding car hit the bike riders on the Bikaner-Jaipur highway on Thursday.
The police said that four friends aged around 18 were riding on the same bike. Out of this, 3 died, while 1 is in critical condition. The collision was so strong that the pieces of the bodies were scattered on the road. None of the four youth was wearing a helmet.
