Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A speeding car rammed into a divider in MP’s Jabalpur on the intervening night of Sunday-Monday. The impact was such that the airbags of the car were deployed. Fortunately, the airbags successfully saved the lives of people in the car. The driver, allegedly drunk, tried to save the car from toppling twice before losing control and ramming into the divider.
The sound of the impact alerted the nearby residents, who called up the police immediately. When police arrived at the spot, they rescued the people and sent them for treatment at the local hospital. A case has been registered for overspeeding and driving under the influence. Further investigations into the matter have begun.
According to information, a white Hyundai Verna, driven at a dangerously fast speed, was on its way from Morena to Jabalpur. Near Malghara crossing in the city, the driver lost control of the car and rammed it into a divider at around 3 am in the morning. Before ramming the car, the driver managed to stop the car from toppling twice. The sound of the impact alerted the nearby residents, prompting them to call the police.
When police arrived at the spot, they found two of the three youths unconscious. The airbags of the car had deployed on impact, saving the youths from major injuries. Police quickly rescued the youths and sent them for treatment at the local hospital. The car has been towed to the police station. A case has been registered against the youths for overspeeding, dangerous driving, and driving under the influence.
The youths were in an inebriated state.
Preliminary investigation into the matter suggests that the youths were partying the night before and thus were drunk. The inebriated state of the driver led to overspeeding and the eventual crash.
