Different types of halwa are made in every house, like halwa made of moong dal, carrot, semolina, flour, and gram flour. But this time why not make a quick and delicious Makhandi Halwa? Ingredients required for Makhandi Halwa:
- Fine grained semolina: 1/2 cup
- Milk: 2-3 cups
- Cardamom powder: 1/2 tsp
- Dry Fruits: Cashews, Almonds, Raisins, Chironji etc.
- desi ghee
- Sugar: as per taste
With these ingredients you can prepare halwa for about four people.
Method to make Makhandi Halwa:
- mixture of semolina and milk: First of all, take 1/2 cup semolina in a big bowl. Now add about 2 cups of milk in it and mix well. Leave this mixture for about an hour.
- Fry Dry Fruits: Heat a pan on gas. When the pan becomes hot, add desi ghee in it. Now add chopped dry fruits (cashew nuts, almonds, raisins, chironji) and fry till they turn light brown. Take them out and keep them in a separate vessel.
- making pudding: Now again heat some ghee in the pan. When the ghee becomes hot, add the prepared mixture of semolina and milk into it. Keep stirring until the mixture turns light brown and stops sticking to the bottom of the pan. Take it out in a separate vessel.
- sugar syrup:Put some ghee in the pan. When the ghee becomes hot, add sugar to it and cook while stirring with a spoon. Cook until it becomes a syrup.
- mix everything: Now add roasted mixture of semolina and milk and cardamom powder and mix everything well. After cooking for some time, turn off the gas.
- Garnishing and serving:Punjabi Makhandi Halwa is ready. Garnish it with dry fruits and serve hot.
