Namkeen and biscuits are often enjoyed with evening tea in Indian homes. But if you want to prepare some spicy and fun snack, then sweet Vada is a great option. It makes quick and looks great with tea. You can easily pack it even during traveling. Know here the simple recipe for making sweet vada:
Material:
- 1 cup rice flour
- 1/2 cup maida
- 1/4 cup semolina
- 2-3 green chillies (finely chopped)
- 1 inch ginger (grated)
- 2 onions (finely chopped)
- Green coriander (finely chopped)
- Kadhi leaf (a little)
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt taste
- 2 teaspoons hot ghee
- Frying oil
Method of preparation:
- Prepare the ingredients: Finely chop onion, ginger, green chillies and green coriander.
- Prepare the mixture: Mix semolina, rice flour and maida in a pot. Then add chopped onion, ginger, green chillies, coriander and curry leaves.
- Add spices: Now add cumin and salt and mix all the ingredients well.
- Use of lukewarm water: Add hot oil or ghee and knead soft dough with the help of lukewarm water.
- Give the vada shape: Apply a little oil on the hands and take small parts of the dough and give them round and flat shape.
- Frying process: Heat the oil and add vads one by one. Fry on both sides until golden brown.
- Serve: Serve sweet vada with chutney. It looks great with evening tea and is also a great snack for train journey.
