Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Students of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan Vidyashram, Jaipur have showcased safe spark shoes with GPS and GSM Modules for women, child safety in 31st National Children’s Science Congress at Ravindra convention Centre. The shoes also enhance the safety of elderly.

The shoes were made by Atharv Raj and Mohneesh Joshi, class 10 and 9 students respectively, under the guidance of their physics teacher Shubhi Sharma.

Safe Spark is a mechanism that can be fitted in all footwear, making it accessible to all genders and age groups.

It addresses the pervasive issue of street harassment and promotes a greater sense of safety among individuals. The invention includes a side trigger button that controls the taser and GPS, ensuring ease of activation and real-time functionality.

It alerts local police stations promptly, enabling swift action and intervention. Atharv said that non-lethal taser is activated with a simple press of the side button located on the shoe’s exterior.

Upon activation, it delivers a non-lethal electric shock to the harasser, disabling them for 20-30 seconds. It also has a mini camera positioned in the sole of the other shoe, the camera discreetly captures high resolution images, videos, and audio recordings in real time.

This evidence is crucial for identifying harassers and is sent to a registered mobile number and the nearest police station via a GSM module,” Sharma said.  Besides, students also showcased smart bags, stable burner and Chinese Robot for child safety and to curb pollution in the event that is being jointly organised by the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, Bhopal and the National Council for Science and Technology Communication.
