Badnawar (Madhya Pradesh): A 35-year-old soybean harvester was found murdered on Thursday morning near Sanwariaji temple on Petlawad Road, Badnawar. The deceased was identified as Rajesh alias Raju Panchal Sutar of Dhanasuta village under Bilpank police station.

The victim travelled to Badnawar grain market the previous evening to sell soybean loaded in his tractor-trolley. His family reported that he had called his father around 7 pm, indicating he had arrived at the market and would be eating soon, but he did not make any further contact.

Upon investigation, police determined that Rajesh had been strangled and evidence suggested a struggle with unknown assailants, as his sweater was found torn. The body had stiffened due to lying in the field overnight and authorities believe that more than two individuals may have been involved in the crime.

Notably, both the victim’s tractor and the soybean he intended to sell remain unaccounted for. Identification of the deceased was facilitated by a tattoo reading ‘RM’ on his hand, which led to the circulation of his photo on social media. In response to the incident, multiple police teams have been deployed to investigate, reviewing CCTV footage from various locations and collecting information from witnesses.

The field where the body was located is owned by Kailash Bhuria, a local resident and a significant crowd gathered at the scene following the discovery. Senior police officials, including SDOP Arvind Singh Tomar and TI Amit Singh Kushwaha are overseeing the investigation to bring perpetrators to justice.
