South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas is on a mission to build closer connections between South Australia and India, with a focus on education. He’s heading a high-profile delegation to New Delhi, including three university vice-chancellors and StudyAdelaide representatives.

The visit reaffirms the commitment of the delegation to promote partnerships between South Australian institutions and Indian industry captains. The collaboration is meant to offer students exposure to world-class education, industry experience, and career prospects.

Malinauskas pointed out the increasing prospects in South Australia’s core industries, such as health, renewable energy, space, agriculture, and critical technologies. He reiterated that Indian students can gain from these industries by working while pursuing studies or after graduation.

A StudyAdelaide forum was conducted to examine opportunities for Indian students. The forum included a panel discussion by the three public South Australian university Vice-Chancellors, who spoke of how Adelaide is a gateway for Indian students to achieve academically and professionally.

StudyAdelaide Chief Executive Jane Johnston highlighted the organisation’s dedication to student achievement, referencing their extensive support initiatives. These programs include Employment Connect, which assists students in finding meaningful work throughout and after studying.

The delegation will then move on to Hyderabad following their New Delhi engagement, further establishing the educational and economic linkages between South Australia and India.
