News India Live, Digital Desk: Sop: Following the arrest of Haryana’s YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra in the alleged espionage case, the Haryana government is preparing to bring strict standard operations process (SOP) for YouTubers and social media affected.
These SOPs are expected to include strict guidelines for materials prepared by specially designed by travel bloggers.
Haryana Chief Minister Naib Saini has issued strict instructions to the officials of the Home Department in this regard and has directed that the draft of the SOP should be prepared and presented for quick approval.
On Tuesday, Saini held a meeting with home and police officers in Chandigarh and recently discussed the arrest of Pakistani spies including Jyoti Malhotra from Haryana. The Chief Minister directed the officials to prevent such incidents in future and keep a strict monitoring on YouTube channels with suspected links from Pakistan.
Government will increase monitoring
The government has decided to increase the monitoring of persons and social media platforms uploading objectionable or anti -national materials. The concerned departments have been asked to work in coordination to develop SOPs for the use and monitoring of such platforms.
After Tuesday’s meeting, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS, Home) Sumita Mishra said that special instructions related to intensive monitoring of social media platforms have been issued. He said that special teams will keep an eye on social media so that channels working like sleeper cells for Pakistan can be detected. Mishra said that strict action will be taken against such channels.
Mishra allegedly said: “The Chief Minister discussed a detailed discussion on the issue of Pakistan -backed operatives in the state. Our action will continue till we end them. We have enough social media monitoring cells that are monitoring such platforms.” He further said that the agencies are on high alert and are taking fast action against people associated with the operatives supported from Pakistan or across the border.
