A shocking incident has taken place in which the son of former state minister Tanaji Sawant was kidnapped on Monday. He is reported to have gone missing and a case has been registered in this regard.
It is reported that he was kidnapped from a Swift car at 4:57 pm from the Narhe area under the limits of Sinhagad police station. The control room of Pune police also received an anonymous call regarding the incident. The name of the kidnapped person is Rishikesh Sawant, and he is known to live in Pune.
Police stat scanning CCTV footage
This incident has taken place within the limits of Sinhagad police station. Preliminary information suggests that four people got out of the Swift car and kidnapped him. The police have started a CCTV investigation.
The police are investigating who kidnapped Tanaji Sawant’s son and for what purpose. A police team reached Tanaji Sawant’s residence in the Katraj area of Pune.
The police are also investigating whether anyone had called at that residence or whether a ransom was demanded. The call records of Rishikesh Sawant are being checked in this case. An anonymous call about the kidnapping came to the control room in Pune. After that, the police started a search.
Satish Wagh murder and kidapping
In December, Satish Wagh (55), maternal uncle of Bharatiya Janata Party’s MLC Yogesh Tilekar, was kidnapped on Dec 9 when he was on a morning walk near his house. The same evening, his body was found near Yavat on the Pune-Solapur Highway, around 40 km from the abduction spot. Investigation revealed that Wagh was stabbed to death and was also beaten with a blunt object.
