Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Some unidentified youths allegedly attacked corporator Kamlesh Kalra’s son and threatened his family members on Saturday, after an argument between the corporator and an Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) employee. Kalra alleged that the attackers were sent by MIC member Jitu Yadav.
Earlier, an audio clip of the argument between Kalra and an IMC employee was circulated on social media and it was claimed that Kalra was using abusive words for IMC employees using Yadav’s name. Kalra said that after this audio clip, Yadav had threatened him on phone.
Police registered a case against unidentified youths on the complaint of Kalra’s son and said that investigation was on to identify them. Deputy commissioner of police (zone-4) Rishikesh Meena said that a case under various sections of the BNS had been registered against some unidentified people for attacking corporator of ward 65 Kamlesh Kalra’s son at his place.

Kalra’s son, who is a law student, said in his complaint that he was at home with his mother and grandmother when some youths barged in and attacked him, warning him and his family to not make any comment against Jitu Yadav.
One of the accused also brandished a knife and threatened the family with dire consequences. Police are checking CCTV camera footage to identify the accused. According to the complainant, the accused were armed. A complaint was also submitted by the IMC employee and investigation is underway.
Kalra told media persons that he had an argument with an IMC employee, who was threatening him in the name of Jitu Yadav on Friday. After that, some youths reached his place and attacked his son. They also threatened the other family members.
Kalra said when he called Yadav and requested him to tell the youths to return from his place, the former threatened him, saying why did he use his (Yadav’s) name during his argument with the IMC employee. Yadav refuted all the allegations and told the media that Kalra should not have misbehaved with the IMC employee. He said that Kalra was trying to contact him. But when he couldn’t meet him, Kalra made false allegations against him.
Additional commissioner of police (law and order) Amit Kumar Singh informed media persons that two audio clips were circulated on social media and they were being verified to ascertain the facts. CCTV camera footage was also being examined to identify the accused. Meanwhile, Sindhi Colony’s traders downed shutters on Saturday in support of corporator Kalra. They also reached the police station and demanded strict action in the case.
