Dehradun, 27 November (HS). The sixth Inter Police Modern School Sports Competition concluded on Wednesday. District Magistrate Savin Bansal distributed prizes and medals to the winning players in the closing ceremony org.zed at the local police line. This competition started from 25th November. Highlighting the importance of sports, District Magistrate Bansal said that sports are not only essential for physical and mental health but also develop important human qualities like teamwork, discipline and self-esteem. He encouraged the children to make sports an integral part of their lives along with studies. In the program, SSP Ajay Singh said that sports are not just physical activity but also a medium for mental development and positive change in life.

Both studies and sports are necessary for a balanced life. A total of 250 participants from four teams of 31st Corps PAC, 40th Corps PAC, Roshanabad Haridwar and Police Modern School of Dehradun district took part in the three-day competition. 16 sporting events were held in the competition, which included running, chess, carrom, shot put, discus throw, volleyball, badminton, football and cricket. The chief guest and org.zers praised the dedication, discipline and teamwork of the participating children. All children and schools were encouraged to participate enthusiastically in such competitions in future also.
