The hospital is located in New Delhi and is famous as a prestigious hospital, but very few people know that there is a Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Lahore, which was founded in 1921 by a civil engineer and social worker Sir Ganga Ram. He is known as the creator of Lahore as he played an important role in the development of the city. Sir Gangaram’s life-work is still alive in the hearts of people. Recently, Harun Rashid announced the renovation of the ancestral house of Sir Ganga Ram in Lahore through a post.

Sir Gangaram was born in 1851 in a small village in Punjab (now in Pakistan). Despite being from an ordinary family, he received his education with hard work and dedication and emerged as a reputed civil engineer. He planned and built several important infrastructure projects in the Indian subcontinent.

Recently, Harun Rashid announced the renovation of the ancestral house of Sir Ganga Ram in Lahore through a post. The post also shared four pictures, in which this historic building can be seen in its prior pride. After partition, Sir Ganga’s house turned into ruins. Now it has returned to its old position. With the renovation of this historical house, the greatness of Sir Ganga Rama and the importance of his ancestral place for his family has been restored.

Famous as Lahore Manufacturer

Sir Gangaram is also known as the creator of Lahore as he made a special contribution to the development of this city. Many important buildings and institutions built by him are still the identity of Lahore. His most famous contribution is Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Hitchcock College. Both institutions are located in Lahore and are still considered a symbol of excellence.

He built water supply system, roads and several bridges in Lahore. It proved to be an example in the development of the city. Sir Gangaram’s contribution was not limited to architecture only, but he also worked for the upliftment of the society and did many philanthropic works.

 

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital also in Lahore

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital was established in 1921 and it is still a major hospital in Lahore. This hospital is a symbol of social service and their commitment to humanity. Apart from this, Sir Gangaram also established Alexon College, which is one of the most famous and prestigious schools in Lahore.

Sir Gangaram’s family came to Delhi from Lahore at the time of Partition, but his contribution is still alive in both countries. The descendants of Sir Gangaram recently visited Pakistan, where he visited the reconstruction of his ancestral home in Lahore. The house belonged to Sir Gangaram’s family and after partition it turned into ruins. Now this house is being rebuilt in Lahore, Pakistan.

Parul Dutta, the supernatural of Sir Ganga Ram, said, ‘The house where my father, his siblings and cousins ​​lived. Living in that house was really magical. This was the thing that I was looking for since my first visit to Lahore in 2004. My father came to Lahore in 1986. That year was the centenary celebrations of his school, Alexon College, which was founded by Sir Ganga Ram. There, on the jail road, where he remembered his house, now a flyover had been built.
