Commuters in Mumbai will experience significant changes to their travel plans as construction work on the Sion Barrier Bridge begins. The bridge work, which is expected to last for the next two years, will cause diversions on several bus routes in the area.
About The Affected Routes
Affected routes include A25, 176, 305, 312, A341, and 463. Buses traveling in the upward direction will divert by taking a left turn at Ashok Mill Naka, proceeding along Sant Rohidas Marg, turning right at Peela Bangalow Signal (Y Junction), and continuing through Dharavi Depot and Naik Nagar before resuming their regular routes.
In the downward direction, buses will take a right turn at Naik Nagar, continue via Sant Channaya Marg, turn left at Peela Bangalow Signal, proceed along Sant Rohidas Marg, and then turn right at Ashok Mill Naka. From there, they will follow the 90-foot road and resume their usual routes.
Additionally, buses on routes 11 and 374 will also be diverted at Sion Barrier, making a U-turn and proceeding via Dharavi Depot and Peela Bangalow before continuing their regular paths.
“With the construction expected to last two years, commuters are urged to plan their journeys ahead of time and stay updated on changes to bus services” said an official.
