Superstar Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandana’s much awaited film ‘Sikander’ knocked in theaters on 30 March 2025 on the occasion of Eid this year. Every year, the expectations of fans and trade analysts on Salman’s films on Eid touch the sky, but this time there was a different view. ‘Alexander’ started well on the first day, but the performance was much less than expected.
Opening was big, but ‘Alexander’ could not do so much
There is a lot of enthusiasm in the audience about Salman Khan’s films, but there was no such big craze on the release of ‘Alexander’. On the first day, the film earned ₹ 26 crores, which can be called average, especially given Salman’s star power. On the second day i.e. on Sunday, the film did a business of ₹ 29 crore with a growth of 11.54%.
Third day earnings decline, total collection ₹ 74.5 crore
On the third day i.e. Monday, which was Eid day, is usually a bumper earning day for films. But ‘Alexander’ could not redeem this opportunity either. According to Sacnilk’s early trend report, the film did a business of only ₹ 19.5 crores on the third day. With this, the total collection of the film has stopped at ₹ 74.5 crore in three days.
Budget ₹ 200 crores, but not even half -recovered
The biggest shock is that even after three days, ‘Alexander’ has not been able to recover even half of its cost. The estimated budget of the film is said to be ₹ 200 crores. In such a situation, it is clear from the earnings of ₹ 74.5 crores that the path of the film is going to be difficult at the box office.
While Salman Khan’s films used to get entry in the 100 crore club in the first weekend itself, this figure is now far -fetched for ‘Alexander’.
What is the reason for a weak content?
Looking at the start of the film, it seems that it is hardly effective at the box office now. According to reports, the audience does not like the film’s storyline, screenplay and dialogues. Mix reaction is also being seen on social media – some fans liked Salman’s action, but many people described the script as weak.
What is the future of ‘Alexander’ now?
Now the eyes are on the upcoming weekend collection of the film. If ‘Alexander’ is not able to strengthen its hold in the coming days, then it will remain another average performance in the list of Salman Khan’s films. Trade analysts believe that the film will have to show good growth in the next two days, otherwise the collection may fall further due to the Word of Mouth being negative.
