Gill achieved the distinction of becoming an Indian batsman to score 7 centuries in the lowest innings (50) in ODI cricket. Earlier this record was named after Shikhar Dhawan (54 innings). The list also includes Virat Kohli (64 innings), KL Rahul (66 innings) and Gautam Gambhir (87 innings).

India’s innings condition
The Indian team, who came out to bat first after losing the toss, did not have a good start and captain Rohit Sharma (1 run) was dismissed early. Gill then shared a 116 -run partnership with Virat Kohli (52). After Kohli was dismissed, he added 104 runs with Shreyas Iyer (78).
Gill lost his wicket in the 35th over, when Adil Rashid bowled him. But thanks to his brilliant innings, India scored 356 runs in 50 overs and defeated England by 142 runs.
