The Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care, part of the Shrimad Rajchandra Mission (SRM) in Dharampur, Gujarat, has raised over Rs 54 crores in the past 12 years at the Mumbai Marathon, making it the highest fundraising NGO at the event. The organisation said that they collected Rs 10 crores in the 2025 Tata Mumbai Marathon, its 13th consecutive year as the highest fundraising NGO.

Over 2,000 individuals and 43 corporate teams participated in various race formats at Sunday’s marathon. Their theme was ‘Sails of Hope’. A SRLC volunteer dressed as a sailboat said, “Much like a sailboat relies on its sails to harness the wind and navigate turbulent waters, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care acts as a steady force, propelling underserved rural communities toward a brighter horizon. Through the vast ocean of life’s challenges, SRLC’s initiatives serve as sails of hope.”

The SRLC has been the highest fundraising NGO every year at the marathon for the last 12 years. The funds have helped schools, colleges, a 250-bed multispeciality charitable hospital and a centre of excellence for women, among others. The SRM was founded by Gurudevshri Rakeshji to promote the values of Shrimad Rajchandra who is considered to be the guru of Mahatma Gandhi.

Funds raised this year will go to a college, a school of nursing, allied health sciences institution, teacher training and skill development centre, hostels and a sports complex with facilities for activities such as archery, and cricket. The funds will also be used in building a one-of-its- kind multispecialty animal hospital in India- Shrimad Rajchandra Animal Hospital. The upcoming 150- bed facility in South Gujarat, spread across 84,000 sq. ft will provide world-class healthcare for animals, with 24×7 OPD and IPD, dialysis, a blood bank, laser therapy treatment, animal prosthesis, cancer treatments, laparoscopy and endoscopies, for large and small animals, domestic and wild. The hospital will be a part of a complex with a veterinary college, animal shelters and an Ahimsa experience centre.

Dr. Bijal Mehta, Trustee, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care shares, “SRLC’s consistent fundraising success is not just a reflection of financial contributions but a testament to efforts to foster a culture of giving, inspired by our founder Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshji.”
