Preview:
Punjab Kings have had almost a week’s break following their first match which they won by 11 runs by beating the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. They will face a resurgent Lucknow Super Giants on April 1st, Monday at the Ekana Stadium as it will be the former’s first home game of IPL 2025.
Although Punjab Kings’ batting unit stood up, led by Shreyas Iyer’s 97, they will need their bowling attack to step up moving forward as the margin of winning was only 11 despite amassing 243 against the Titans. With the Ekana Stadium known to favour spinners, someone like Harpreet Brar could get an opportunity.
Meanwhile, the Super Giants will have breathed a sigh of relief after cantering their way to victory over the SunRisers Hyderabad by gunning down 191 comfortably. With all their facets clicking well against the IPL 2024 runners-up, they will be optimistic of taking their form forward ahead of facing the Punjab Kings.
