Baroda Beat Karnatak despite no show from Pandya brothers
Karnataka set a strong total of 169/8 after batting first. KL Shrijith provided a fiery start with 22 off 9 balls, and Abhinav Manohar went all out at the end, smashing 56* off just 34 balls, including six sixes. R Smaran chopped in with 38 runs. For Baroda Atit Sheth (2/26) and Krunal Pandya (2/22), did well to contain the runs, but they couldn’t prevent Karnataka from posting a challenging total.
Chasing 170 runs for victory, Baroda started well with Rawat’s fireworks, but once Gopal got into the act, things started to fall apart. Hardik and Krunal were both dismissed for golden ducks, which was a huge blow. Gopal then took his fourth wicket, dismissing Bhanu Pania for 42 off 24 balls. Shivalik Sharma (22 runs) and Vishnu Solanki (28*) ensured there were no further hiccups as they took the team past the finish line.
