Mumbai: The Shree Nagardas Dharsi Bhuta High School hosted its Secondary Section Annual Day celebration on February 8, 2025, at the Late Shri Jaysukhlal Nagardas Bhuta sports complex. This year’s theme, “Sur and Taal: A Symphony of Rhythm and Melody Across Cultures,” highlighted the fundamental role of music in our lives through Indian classical music concepts.

The distinguished chief guest for the evening was Shri Panditji Tukaram Deshmukh, Chief Executive Officer of Terna Public Charitable Trust. The event was also graced by honoured guests, including Shri Nishikantji Deshmukh, Headmaster of Terna Public School, Smt. Sunitaji Pandit Deshmukh, Shri Ritesh Jadhav Sir, and Smt. Gauri Umakant Raut.

The celebration was attended by the managing trustee, Shri Kamleshbhai Bhuta, and other trustees, Smt. Devangiben Bhuta, Shri Shubhenduji Bhuta, Smt. Tejashriben Bhuta, Dr. Vrushni Bhuta, the educational director, Shri Umakant Raut Sir, the principal, Shri Sarjerao Vaidya, PTA members, teachers, parents, and students.

The grandiose event was inaugurated by welcoming the guests. They were welcomed with “Tilak” and flower petals. Students performed the traditional Maharashtra lezim dance followed by the lamp lighting ceremony and prayers to Maa Saraswati.

A special felicitation was held for trustee Shri Shubhenduji Bhuta, who recently received the prestigious Robert M. Duncan award from President Carter in the USA for his contributions to leadership and social work. While addressing the pupils, Shri Bhuta encouraged them to view life’s hardships as opportunities to develop stronger. He advised pupils to explore their gifts, discover new passions, and build important life skills.

Shri Panditji Tukaram Deshmukh, the chief guest, commended the school’s dedication to provide high-quality instruction at an affordable price. The event also recognised the achievements of non-teaching staff and gave the Best Teacher Award to outstanding teachers.

The cultural program showcased a remarkable blend of Western and traditional dance performances.
