Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Local residents can enjoy home cooked food and showcase their culinary skills as well at the weekly Annapurna Haat every Sunday. Themed on the slogan, Achha Pakao, Accha Khao, the Haat aims to promote home cooked food (Ghar ka Khana) and provide a platform for homemakers who can sell their homemade items.

There are homemakers who run small food-related businesses from their homes. But their clients are limited to their friend circle and the neighbourhood. These women would be able to network and expand their client base.  It will be organised from 4 pm to 9 pm at E-7, Arera Colony on BMC Ground in the city on Sunday (December 14).

The initiative is being organised by Heychel Foundation in association with Bhopal Municipal Corporation and district administration.  The Haat, which will begin with 10 stalls, will be expanded to 30 stalls. It will be open for cuisines from all over India. However, only vegetarian dishes would be available.

Bagheli food, palak daal kachaudi, jau samosa, litti chokha, gur ki jalebi, homemade cake and mixture, millet cookies, chips, noodles and laddu and bhajiye made with organic produce from the state will be the attractions of the inaugural Haat.  “There are many dishes, which you won’t find in restaurants and hotels. It is healthy, light and tasty but you can’t get it anywhere in the city,” said organiser Dipanjan Mukherjee from Heychel Foundation.
