Shocking! Tiger Mauls Villager To Death While Plucking Tendu Leaves in Balaghat Forest | Pexels

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A tiger killed a villager in the Balaghat forest. Deceased man went to pluck tendu leaves, when the tiger suddenly attacked him. He sustained injuries in the lower part from the waist.

This incident happened in Katangi forest range of the South Forest Division of the district at around 10 am on Friday. Deceased man identified as Anil Bhalave (age 33 years). He was a resident of forest village Kachhar. CCF Gaurav Chaudhary has confirmed the incident.

Anil had gone to the forest with other people of the village in the morning to pluck tendu leaves.

Second tiger attack in 15 days

Everyone was plucking tendu leaves at different places. During this time, a tiger came out of the bushes and pounced on Anil. It ate his lower part. Due to which the young man died on the spot.

This is the second incident of tiger attack in Katangi forest range in 15 days. Earlier on May 3, a tiger had killed 55-year-old farmer Prakash Pane who was sleeping in a farm hut in Kudwa. Four months ago, a person was killed in Khairlanji due to tiger attack.

According to the forest department, 8 to 10 tigers are roaming in this area. Due to the fear of tiger, the work of plucking tendu leaves has been stopped in many villages.

Forest Range Officer Babulal Chadhar said that the family of the deceased will be given compensation as per rules. The forest department has forbidden the villagers from going alone in the forest.
