A shocking incident surfaced from Assam’s Guwahati, where a 10-year-old boy was allegedly murdered by his mother’s lover. The boy’s body was found stuffed inside a suitcase, reported NDTV. The police arrested the accused.
On Saturday, the boy’s mother filed a missing persons complaint. In the complaint, she stated that the boy did not return home. The woman was living separately from her husband and was in a relationship with the accused, Jitumoni Haloi, reported the media house.
The police launched a probe to trace the child. During the investigation, cops became suspicious of Haloi’s activities. Upon questioning, he confessed to his crime. He also led cops to the location where he threw the suitcase.
The boy’s body was found stuffed in a suitcase in a bush on the outskirts of Guwahati. The accused was arrested by the police after the recovery of the boy’s body. Meanwhile, the child’s mother has also been detained to find out whether she is involved in the murder, reported the media house.
The child’s father has also reportedly recorded a statement with the police. The 10-year-old boy’s body has been sent for postmortem.
A detailed investigation has been launched in the case.
