Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A teenage couple from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, was found dead in a house in Jabalpur’s Panagar area on Saturday evening. The two minors, both aged 17 and a half, reportedly died by hanging themselves.
The couple had been missing since January 25. On March 21, the boy arrived in Jabalpur with the girl and stayed at his acquaintance Akash Soni’s house in Baroda village. The next night, they were found hanging.
According to information, on March 23, when Akash returned from work, he found the door locked from the inside. He alerted neighbors and the police, who broke the door open and discovered the bodies. Police sent them for post-mortem and informed their families. Reports indicate that the boy’s family had filed a missing complaint, while the girl’s father had lodged a kidnapping case.
The boy later revealed they had married in Maihar but feared their families’ disapproval. The girl had also called her brother before her death, stating she had left by choice. Police recovered ₹38,000 and a mobile phone from the girl. The case is under investigation. Authorities are examining all aspects, including their marriage claims and family disputes.
