Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A man was killed and nine others were injured after two families came face-to-face over love affair in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain rural area. The clash turned violent after one of the parties threatened to kill the other party and tried to run the tractor over them.
The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon in the Likhoda village in the district.
The victims have been referred to the district hospital for further treatment.
A cross FIR has been registered by the police against both parties. The deceased’s family has requested the authorities for security assurance.
According to information, the victim has been identified as Shahzad. Shahzad succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the local hospital. According to sources, Asif and Saddam’s families were involved in the clash that ensued. The clash erupted due to an ongoing love affair between a boy and a girl from the respective families. The affair was known to the families, and they had accepted the same. Until a couple of days ago, the boy threatened the girl. The girl complained about the same to her family.
Angry, the girl’s family confronted the accused party in an open field. The argument turned heated and both the families started attacking each other with sticks.
Violent clash leads to one dead, nine injured; police case filed
The violent clash led to the death of Shahzad and ensued severe injuries to Abid, Afsana, Altaf, Rahim, Asif, Rais, Nehru, and Rustam. The injured have been transported to the local hospital for further treatment.
Police have registered cases against both groups. Based on Asif’s complaint, Abid and 10 others have been booked, while Saddam’s complaint has led to cases against five individuals. Charges include murder, attempted murder, and rioting.
