Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh): A three-year-old girl was allegedly harassed and raped by a CCTV repairman in a private school in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri. The incident came to light when the victim’s father wrote a written complaint to the SP of the area and demanded action against the accused.
Furthermore, the victim’s father, in his complaint, alleged that the school was trying to suppress and dismiss the case. Acting on the written complaint, police have lodged an FIR against the unknown accused, and investigations are underway.
According to information, the ordeal begins when the victim came back from school one day and complained to her mother about pain in her groin area. Upon further questioning, the victim child told her mother that a man had done ‘bad things’ to her in the school garden and had threatened her not to tell anyone. Shocked by the accusations, the victim’s mother filed a complaint at the local police station.
Initially, police filed a case under the relevant sections of rape, but after a medical was done and no signs of rape came to light, the charges were dropped to molestation and harassment. Moreover, when the victim’s parents went to the school to complain about the same, they pressured them to keep quiet and not reveal anything to the police. Angry, this is when the father of the victim wrote a written complaint to the SP of the area, and the mother filed a complaint in the National Child Protection Commission.
Police Investigation
Upon receiving multiple complaints and pressure, police finally launched an investigation into the matter. A team of police officers was sent to the local school to interrogate school employees and to scan the CCTV footage of the day. Action will be taken as per the facts that emerge in the investigation.
