Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 17-year-old rape victim delivered a stillbirth at Indore’s government hospital.
When the child welfare committee was informed, they counselled the girl. It’s then she revealed she was raped by an acquaintance in her village. Following this, a case was registered against the accused and began the investigation.
The revelation…
According to information, a 17-year-old girl gave birth to a stillborn baby in Indore’s government hospital two days ago. The hospital staff informed the Child Welfare Committee, as she was a minor. Following this, they counselled the girl, and she mentioned that a year ago Kalicharan abducted her from the village to Aurangabad and kept her at his’ house.
After three months, he left her in the village, and after a few days, she suffered from severe stomachache, and her parents took her to the hospital. The doctors there told him that she was pregnant. His family, out of fear, didn’t file any complaint and rather contacted him.
Kalicharan then took her with him again, but somehow, she had a miscarriage. After this, he allegedly raped her again, and she again became pregnant. Again, he left her in her village after a few months.
She then lived with her parents. After a few days, when she suffered a severe stomach pain, her parents took her to a private hospital in Khandwa. The doctors there referred her to Indore, where she delivered a stillbirth.
Case registered
On the basis of the girl’s statement, the Central Kotwali police have registered a case against Kalicharan under the relevant section of the kidnapping, rape, and POCSO Act. Further investigations are underway.
