WhatsApp has taken a decision which will impact users running Android phones. Actually, the company has taken a big decision to end support for some Android phones from January 1, 2025. If you also use Android smartphone then today’s news is special for you.

Let us tell you in which smartphones WhatsApp is planning to roll out. If this happens, you will not be able to run the app on the smartphone for which WhatsApp support will end.

The app will not work on this smartphone

From January 1, 2025, i.e. from the new year, this app will not work on smartphones running Android KitKat and older versions. This means that if your phone also runs on this version, from January 1, you will have to upgrade to a new phone that runs on a higher version to run WhatsApp. WhatsApp is ending support from these smartphones because the hardware of these smartphones will not be compatible with the features coming to WhatsApp. After this decision of WhatsApp, from January 1, it will not work on other smartphones including Motorola Moto G, Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Sony Xperia Z, LG Optimus G, Sony Xperia Z and HTC One X.

Apple iPhone users will also be ‘disappointed’

According to reports, not just Android, WhatsApp may also end support for iPhones running iOS 15.1 and older versions. This means that users running iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6 will not be able to run the app due to this decision of WhatsApp. According to the report, iPhone users have time till May 5, 2025 to upgrade their phones.
