Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut recently reacted to Maharashtra CM Fadnavis’s tweet over Waqf Amendment Bill that is being presented in Parliament. Raut responded to Fadnavis, asserting that the Waqf bill is unrelated to Hindutva and instead reflects the political strategies of BJP.
Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tweeted about the Waqf Bill, mentioning that the amendment bill will be discussed tomorrow and questioning if the Shiv Sena, led by Uddhav Balaseheb Thackeray, will support the principles of Balasaheb Thackeray or those of Rahul Gandhi, stating “वक्फ सुधारणा विधेयक उद्या संसदेत ! बघू या उद्धव बाळासाहेब ठाकरे सेना, हिंदूहृदयसम्राट, वंदनीय शिवसेनाप्रमुख बाळासाहेब ठाकरे यांचा विचार राखणार की राहुल गांधी यांच्या पावलावर पाऊल ठेवून तुष्टीकरण करीत राहणार?
Translated from Marathi to English: “Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament tomorrow! Let’s see if Uddhav will uphold the ideas of Balasaheb Thackeray Sena, the Emperor of Hindu Hearts, and the venerable Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray, or will he continue to follow in the footsteps of Rahul Gandhi and continue to appease him?”
To which Sanjay Raut has replied stating, “देवेंद्र जी, वक़्फ़ सुधारणा विधेयक आणि हिंदुत्ववाचा काडीमात्र संबध नाही, ही तुमच्या पक्षाची एक खाज आहे गोंधळ निर्माण करण्याची! विषय राहुल गांधींचा , त्यांच्या आजीने अमेरिकेला दम भरला होता; आणि पाकिस्तानचे दोन तुकडे करून फाळणीचा बदला घेतला होता! तुमच्यात हा दम आहे? बोला ।
Translated from Marathi to English: “Devendra Ji, There is no connection between the Waqf Amendment Bill and Hindutva. This is your party’s way of creating chaos! And about Rahul Gandhi, His grandmother had her power in America; and had avenged the partition by dividing Pakistan into two! Do you have this strength? Speak.”

The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) has cleared the Waqf Amendment Bill, which proposes significant changes, including the retention of the concept of “Waqf by User” and the inclusion of non-Muslim members on the Waqf Board. The opposition has raised concerns about the bill, arguing that their amendments were ignored and that the inclusion of non-Muslim members could undermine minority rights.
