Mumbai: The Shiv Sena (UBT) Leader Aaditya Thackeray, during a media interaction on Tuesday, strongly criticised the Mahayuti government, levelling serious allegations against the BJP and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde regarding the governance of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation.

Aaditya Thackeray referred to the government as the ‘April Fool Government’ for misleading the public on various promises, particularly those related to farmer loan waivers and the ‘Ladki Bhena Yojana.’

In the press conference, Aaditya Thackeray, stated, “This government that is there, every government has its name, there were MVA, Yuti governments, we call this government April Fool government, because they have tried to mislead us on many things. The CM had said that as soon as they will come to power, farmers’ loans will be waived off, today the Deputy CM said that this will not happen; this is April Fool.”

“I had said that Deonar dumping ground was given to Adani group, the corporation had opposed. Then, when Adani saw waste lying there, they returned the land to BMC. Now the cleaning will happen, the cost would be around Rs 3,000 crore, it will be done from the money of Mumbaikars,”as per news agency PTI.

Meanwhile, On Wednesday, Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray strongly opposed the Maharashtra government’s move to lease out open spaces along the Southbound Coastal Road to builders for development.

In an X post, Aaditya said, “Hearing that some dalaals (brokers) of builders are asking for the open space of the South Bound Coastal Road we planned and initiated for Mumbai.”

“The open space MUST remain with the BMC only and only for open spaces and urban forest plantations, as we Mumbaikars have planned. We will not allow the government to hand it over to builders or for hoardings as it wishes to!” he added.
