Shiva Chhatrapati State Sports Award: The Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports Award for the year 2023-24 will be presented on Friday, 18 April at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Mahalunga Balewadi in the city. Through this program, people associated with the field of sports will be awarded Lifetime Achievement and Direct Awards. Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan will be present at the award ceremony. Former national kabaddi player Shankutla Khatavkar will be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Paralympic medalist Sachin player, world champion archer Aditi Swamy, Ojas Devatale, cricketer Shivam Dubey, Rituraj Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal will be honored with Shiva Chhatrapati State Award. A total of 89 awards were announced at the award ceremony.

Chief Minister Fadnavis and other leaders will be present.

State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Union Minister of State Murlidhar Mohol, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Sports Minister Dattatreya Bharana, Deputy Speaker of Assembly Dr. Neelam Gorahe, Minister of State Madhuri Mishal and District Administration officials will be present on the occasion. Apart from this, Additional Chief Secretary Anil Diggikar and Sports Commissioner Hiralal Sonawane will also be present.

 

These awards will be distributed

State Joint Sports Director Sudhir More said that preparations for the award ceremony of 2022-23 and 2023-24 have started. A total of 89 awards were announced in a review meeting held under the chairmanship of Sports Minister in Mumbai, including Shiva Chhatrapati State Sports (Lifetime Achievement) Lifetime Achievement Award, Excellent Sports Advisor-Jija Mata Award, Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports Award for Athletes, Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports Courage Award and Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports Award for Divyang Athletes. 18 players will be given direct award. The award will include prize money of Rs 5 lakh for Jeevan Gaurav Award, Rs 3 lakh for Shiv Chhatrapati Award and Rs 1 lakh for other awards.

 

Enhance the legacy of sports culture

After the announcement of the awards, Sports Minister Dattatreya Bharne said that the legacy of sports culture in the state should be preserved and promoted. It is a glorious tradition to provide Chhatrapati State Sports Award to honor sports trainers, guide and players for outstanding work in the field of sports.
