Mumbai: Filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor is very angry with the cuts made during the OTT release of his film ‘Bandit Queen’. He has said that this film has been improperly criticized. I have not taken any consent for this. I myself cannot consider it as my film.
Originally released in theaters in 1994, the film is now available on OTT platform Amazon Prime. However, a lot of editing has been done in it.
Shekhar Kapoor expressed displeasure over arbitrarily cut in the film without her consent, saying that these foreign OTT companies consider Indian creators as inferior and abuse them in this way. Will he really make such a bad cut without his consent in Christopher Nolan’s film?
Filmmakers including Sudhir Mishra and Hansal Mehta have supported the anger expressed by Shekhar Kapoor. Kunal Kohli, the producer of the film ‘Hum Tum’, has also written that today the OTT platform will probably not allow Shekhar Kapoor to be made a film like ‘Bandit Queen’ as he wants.
