Stock Market Today: The stock market fell for the second consecutive day amidst the holiday atmosphere on the last day of the year 2024. Today Sensex fell 687.34 points and Nifty50 fell 184.45 points due to lack of foreign investment and holiday mood.

Of the 30 stocks included in the Sensex pack, only 6 stocks improved, while 24 stocks fell by up to 4 per cent. Lower circuit occurred in 270 shares on BSE. While 85 shares have reached their lowest level of the year. However, 158 shares hit the upper circuit and 97 shares hit 52-week high. Till the time of writing the news, out of total 3791 shares traded, 1524 shares have improved and 2116 shares have declined. The overall market sentiment in the stock market has been seen to be negative.

At 11.00 am, Sensex was trading 303.96 points down at 77944.17 and Nifty was trading 67.55 points down at 23577.35. Volume has declined in December, 2024 as investors are in a holiday mood. Foreign investors are also continuously reporting selling. The effect of which has been seen in the market. Heavy selling has been recorded in IT shares.

PSU shares improve

Today, after registering improvement in PSU shares, the index is trading with a gain of 0.56 percent. RITES is trading up by 10.38 per cent, KIOCL by 10.21 per cent, RVNL by 4.90 per cent, NBCC by 3.83 per cent. Energy indices were trading up 0.26 per cent, Auto 0.14 per cent, Metal 0.38 per cent in the morning session. Whereas the IT index has declined by more than 2 percent. Realty, auto, capital goods indices are trading more than 1 percent lower.
