The stock market started inauspicious on Tuesday on the second day of the business week. Both Sensex and Nifty opened on red mark. Talking about the situation at 9.30 am, the Sensex -193.37 points opened at 77,118.43 points, while the Nifty -70.50 points opened at 23,311.10 points.
Third quarter results today
Other companies including Vodafone Idea, Lupine, Astrazaneka Pharma, Birlasoft and Berger Paints will announce their third quarter results today. Investors will also react to the income of other companies including Eicher Motors, Nayaka and Grasim Industries.
Global market
The Asian market accelerated after Wall Street’s lead on Tuesday, as investors ignored US President Donald Trump’s tariff campaign. On Monday, Trump signed an order for 25 percent tariffs on US imports of steel and aluminum. America’s Dou Jones rose 0.38 percent on Monday. S&P 500 increased by 0.67 percent and Nasdaq by 0.98 percent.
Foreign investors continue selling
Foreign investors (FIIs) continue to sell from domestic stock markets. On 10 February, FII sold shares worth Rs 2,463.72 crore, while DII bought shares worth Rs 1,515 crore.
