Indian stock market opened on green mark on Thursday. The BSE Sensex opened 39.77 points to 76,210.84 at 9.30 am. While the Nifty 50 opened at 23,055.75 with just 9.65 points or 0.05 percent.

 

Third quarter results

Today many smallcaps and midcap companies will announce their December quarter (Q3Fy25) results. These include Godfrey Philips India, Goodyer, IPCA Labs, ITI, MMTC, Senco Gold, SJVN, Titagarh Rail Systems and United Bruvise. Only Hindalco will announce its quarterly results in largecap companies today.

Global market update

  • The Asia-Pacific markets accelerated today, as investors accepted more strong inflation (CPI) data in the US for January.
  • The US Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 3% in January, compared to 2.9% in December. Due to this increasing inflation, the possibility of cutting interest rates by the Federal Reserve has now decreased and the possibility of increase in interest rates has also increased.
  • Tonight the US Productive Price Index (PPI) data will be released, which will be monitored by investors.
  • At the same time, pressure was observed in the US markets on Wednesday. S&P 500 declined by 0.27%, Dow Jones declined by 0.5%, while Nasdaq Composite increased by 0.03%.
