Share market holiday: Indian stock markets BSE and NSE will remain closed for three days from tomorrow. Tomorrow, Friday, 18 April 2025, the stock market will be closed on the occasion of Good Friday. After this, due to regular weekly holidays, the stock market will be closed on Saturday and Sunday 3 days. Now from Monday, 21 April 2025, regular trading in the stock market will start again.

During this period, there will be no business or disposal in equity, derivatives and securities borrowings and borrowings (SLB) segments on NSE and BSE.

 

Commodity markets will remain closed on Friday.

On the day of Good Friday, both sessions of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) – morning and evening business – will remain completely closed. Apart from this, there will also be no trading on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), the country’s largest agricultural commodity exchange.

After Good Friday, the next market holiday will be Maharashtra Day on 1 May 2025. Apart from this, a complete list of when the stock market will remain closed in 2025 has been made available. April 15, Tuesday: Banks in West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Himachal Pradesh will remain closed due to state-specific festivals like Bengali New Year, Himachal Day and Bohag Bihu.

April 18, Friday: Banks in states including Assam, Rajasthan, Jammu, Tripura, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar will remain closed on Good Friday, which is celebrated in memory of Jesus Christ’s cross.

April 20, Sunday: Weekly holiday for all banks in India.

April 21, Monday: Banks will be closed in Tripura due to tribal festival Garia Puja celebrated in the state.

April 26, Saturday: Due to the fourth Saturday of the week, there will be a holiday in all banks in India.

April 29, Tuesday: Banks will remain closed in Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Lord Sri Parashuram Jayanti, which is the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu, Parashurama’s birth anniversary.
