Stock market holiday: The market will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday after Friday’s trading session. The stock market will be closed not only on Saturday and Sunday, but also on 31 March i.e. Monday. This holiday will remain closed on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr (Ramadan Eid). It is one of the most important festivals in Islam.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will remain suspended in equity, derivatives and securities borrowings and borrowings (SLB) segments on this day. This weekend will be long for investors as the markets are already closed on Saturday (29 March) and Sunday (March 30). The trade will resume normally on Tuesday, 1 April 2025.

There will be a total of 12 stock market holidays this year except for weekend holidays. These days, trading and disposal will be affected in equity, derivatives and SLB sections.

Friday market

Today, on Friday, the Indian stock market was flat open, while global markets were seen to be fluctuated due to geopolitical uncertainties. The Nifty 50, retaining the profit of its previous season, opened at 23,600 points, while the BSE Sensex opened 0.11% to 77,690 points.

Initial trade saw auto and IT sector shares like Hero MotoCorp, Ashok Leyland, TVS Motor, Mahindra & Mahindra, LTI Mindtree, Wipro, Infosys and HCL Tech.
