The market has stabilized after 2 days of decline. There was buying in midcap and smallcap stocks while there was buying in oil-gas, metal and energy stocks. Realty, pharma indices closed with gains. Sensex, Nifty closed with gains. Rupee strengthened by 12 paise to close at 85.71/$.
The stock market closed with a rise on Tuesday
Both Sensex and Nifty closed in the green. Sensex closed at 78,199 points with a gain of 234.12 points. While Nifty closed at 23,692 points with a gain of +76.90 points.
Top Gainer-Top Loser
ONGC, SBI Life Insurance, Tata Motors, HDFC Life, Adani Enterprises were the top gainers in Nifty. While HCL Tech, TCS, Eicher Motors, Hero MotoCorp, Trent were the top losers of Nifty.
Market closed with gains
Except IT, all sector indices closed in the green. Oil & Gas, Energy, Bank, Metal and Pharma indices closed with gains of 0.5-1 per cent. While BSE Midcap Index closed 0.7 percent higher and Smallcap Index closed 1.7 percent higher. Sensex ended trading at 78,199.11 with a rise of 234.12 points or 0.30 percent. Nifty closed at 23,707.90, up 91.85 points or 0.39 per cent.
