The stock market started in the red on Thursday. After this it gradually started trading on the green mark. At 3.30 pm, both Sensex and Nifty closed in the green. Sensex closed 115.70 points higher at 76,520 points and Nifty closed 50.00 points higher at 23,216 points.
Market closed with gains
Nifty ended the week with market volatility and Sensex, Nifty closed with gains for the second consecutive day. After 2 days of decline, there was a rise in midcap and smallcap. There was a rise in IT, pharma and auto stocks. Realty, FMCG, PSE indices closed on a positive note while oil-gas, banking shares remained under pressure.
Top Loser-Top Gainer
Top gainers on Nifty were UltraTech Cement, Grasim Industries, Wipro, Shriram Finance, M&M. While BPCL, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HCL Technologies, Power Grid Corp, Reliance Industries were the top fallers on Nifty. Nifty Midcap Index closed with a gain of 2 percent and Smallcap Index closed with a gain of 1 percent.
