Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh scripted history as he walked the red carpet of MET Gala 2025 on Tuesday, but the actual fun happened behind-the-scenes while he was travelling to the venue with Shakira and others. Moments before his MET debut, Diljit was seen seeking the help of AI and learning English, and the video is too cute to miss.
Nicole Scherzinger, who was also travelling with Diljit, took to her Instagram handle to post a video to give fans a glimpse of the BTS fun. She showed the last-minute chaos inside the vanity van moments before the celebs finally sashayed down the red carpet, and in the midst of them all, Diljit was spotted being engrossed in his phone.
Nicole began the video with Shakira and Tessa Thompson struggling with last minute alterations and struggles in their respective outfits and laughing their hearts out while fumbling. She then panned the camera to Diljit, and he quickly flashed his phone towards her, saying, “I am learning English”.
“You are ChatGPT-ing,” Nicole said, to which Diljit humbly responded, “I am learning English. My English is bad.”
Shakira, Nicole, Tessa, along with Diljit, were seen sharing a hearty laugh. For those unversed, all of them were part of designer Prabal Gurung’s squad at the MET Gala 2025.
Diljit and Shakira also posed together for photos, and later, were seen having dinner together as well.
Diljit sent his desi fans into a tizzy on Tuesday as he channelled his inner Maharaja for his MET Gala debut. He paid a tribute to India with his look, especially to Punjab and its rich royal heritage.
He oozed royalty in an ivory neatly-tailored ensemble that featured a structured suit layered with a traditional Indian drape. He paired it with a matching turban, priceless layered jewellery and a Maharaja sword case, which was a nod to the ceremonial accessories of Indian kings, symbolising strength and legacy.
